The White Rabbit like creature was spotted by an Australian. Caroline Phillips, 41, who owns the field where the mammal was seen, said it was odd to get this reminder of home in Northampton.  She said: “My friend Florence was riding her stallion in one of our fields when she came back telling me there was a white kangaroo in the field. Needless to say, I had thought she was obviously mistaken or crazy… so I thought I’d humour her and go back with her to see the ‘mysterious creature’. Then it hopped away. Luckily I was filming. We got quite close to it and stayed in the field watching for at least half an hour.”

Salcey Forest

Salcey Forest is a former medieval hunting ground. It lies to the East of the village of Hartwell. Part of the forest is designated as an SSSI due to its flora and fauna, including several miles of ancient woodland.

Salcey Forest is famous for its a magical tree top forest walk. During the Second World War, elephants from circuses were put to use to fell trees. There is a pond named The Elephant Pond where the elephants could bathe at the end of the day. There’s a bridge across it.

So, in the run up to a free novel download day celebrating World Elephant Day, we have a sighting of a rare albino near Hartwell in a former hunting ground with ancient woodland and an elephant pond. My, there’s even a lady on a white horse in the video!

Readers of The Earth Emperor’s Eye will understand all these connexions. Here’s hoping the proverbial White Rabbit been pulled from the Earth Emperor’s hat!

Alas, hope they say is a dangerous thing!
